Personal Update

Sorry for the lack of posting beauties:( School seems to want to take up all my time these past few days and I've just been crazy busy!! Last week I asked my best friend Charlie to Snowball, my winter formal dance, it was a lot of fun to surprise him. I've been trying to find a dress and get everything ready for that which has been super stressful. I ordered a dress online last week and it came a few days ago. I was super bummed out to open the box, zip it up and realize that I didn't like it at all... so the search goes on. I need to hurry cause it's this saturday. Clearly I'm very prepared except I'm probably the biggest procrastinator you'll meet.
Like I've mentioned before, I'm in Senate at my school and were planning this big
fundraiser called Wish Week, I'm sure some of you have it at your schools. It's a super amazing week Senate puts on to raise money for two people. This year its a little girl with leukemia and her dream is to go to Disney World, and then an old lady with ahlzimers who wants to ride in a hot air balloon. Oh my gosh, so adorable. But any how, there's a bunch of really cool events that we put on and themed dress up days and such. I'm excited to see how it all turns out because I've put so much time and effort into it. Next week if I'm not posting much know thats what's taking up most of my time on top of school and social stuff etc. If I'm not posting please don't get discouraged or annoyed, I'm trying my absolute best! I never want to let my readers down:)

Music Pouring through my Winter Window

Before I fall asleep at night in the winter, I slowly slide open my bedroom windows letting all the crisp air in. The glass shakes from the cold and the white wood lets out a loud scream when peeled back. A wave of cold oxygen floods into my room like rushing water in a rivers drop. The temperature stings my cheeks and my nose turns into a deep amaranth pink color. I close my eyes and take a deep breath. The draft tickles my eyelashes and goose bumps crawl over my skin. I clench my floor length curtins around the window pane but the wind catches them and blows them through my room. They dance in the wind and cast shadows on the wall that look like the delicate sugar plum fairies right off the Nutcracker stage. I quickly tip-toe to my bed and snuggle under the warm blankets and fresh linened sheets. I am now warm in a frigid place that is full of unknown creatures and piercingly cold air.

Fresh n' Fruity

Some people have asked me on Tumblr and Instagram if I can post kind of like healthy foods, snacks, and what I do to stay fit so I guess I'll try and go for it!
Tuesday I had a sweet healthy snack which was raspberry mango organic sorbet with cut up fruit! I love doing this when I'm in the mood for something sweet because it replaces the taste of a unhealthy candy bar or fatty ice cream. Its good for you and will probably make your day a little sweeter too! Eating healthy makes your skin brighter and clearer, gives you more energy and helps you focus harder.

Eat well. Look well. Feel well.

Stuck in the Drought

Life is a funny thing. Some mornings you wake up and feel refreshed, awake and alive. Like you just jumped in the salty aqua ocean water and went for a swim. You hop out of bed with a lively bounce in your step and feel like you can take on the world by yourself. That nothing and no one can stop you. You’re positive and bubbly and ready for something better the lies beyond the wood of your front door.
But then other days you can barely open your eyes when your alarm rings out in the morning. The sun coming in the dirty glass window is blinding and horrific. You wish there could be darkness for a little longer. You pull your covers over your head to blind out the light and seep down into your box spring hoping your parents won’t notice your not getting up for a dreadful day at school.

As teenagers we feel so many emotions. Its the years of our lives when we are the most insecure,  and unsure about anything and everything. Some say high school is a “roller coaster of emotions” but I think its just a living hell. The growing kids who supposedly need 8-10 hours of sleep, are working their butts off into the wee hours of night for school and getting up before the sun even peeks it’s head over the rolling hills. Thats the problem, people just expect things and for us to preform perfectly when it’s basically impossible. You adults try it again for four years and see how you feel in the end. It’s not  like it used to be when you were growing up. Now it is a never ending cycle of the same high standards you can’t seem to meet and daily routine. The only change is your attitude.

If you have not noticed by now, the past few weeks I’ve kind of been in that mind set I talked about in the second paragraph. Not even wanting to see the light of the day, let alone try to find it. I have no idea why though. Maybe its because I am still getting over a cold so I’m tired and the fact that the weather has been absolutely disgusting the past few days. In Colorado when it won’t snow in winter you’ll find that its not freezing cold nor hot. It stays in this awkward stage of haze where its literally just depressing. Cloudy skies and brown grass. I’m done with it. I need sunny sand or a snowflake wonderland; neither of which I can obtain right now. When I decide where I’m going to college wether is going to be a huge factor. I’ll go somewhere with the ocean and warmth to bring out my sunny joyful personality otherwise it gets hidden by the clouds. But since I’m stuck here all I need are the little things. A healthy breakfast to start my day, lots of water to keep me feeling replenished in this dry land; a positive and out going attitude at school otherwise my day will drag on for hours. Things like that to keep me on my toes so that the next day I will wake up with that bounce in my step and a smile on my lips.

New Favorite song: Hello My Old Heart

I'm a free soul when it comes to music.
I'm not the type that sticks with one genre or type I guess.
What I listen to purely depends on my mood:

Calm/Laid Back: Acoustic, Indie Folk, R&B
Pump Up: Hip Hop, mostly popular songs that are on the radio and Rap
Mad or Work out music: Dubstep, remixes, etc.
My ultimate favorite song since third grade is Island in The Sun by Weezer.

You know those days were theres just so much going on you don't have a second to slow down. A moment to catch your breath. An hour to relapse and refocus. Today was one of those days.  I was back in a full day of school for the first time this week and could barely focus. Not many people know this about me but I recently got tested for ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) which is when you have a really hard time focusing or paying attention. I found out I have a mild form. Knowing this doesn't set me back, but only pushes me to do better. I am no different then any one else, it's just a lot harder to focus and learn. School's never been my strong point and now I just know why. However, this sadly is no excuse to slack off. Being unfocused me, all of school today I was just wishing I could be snuggled up on the couch with my dog watching "The Carrie Diaries" which happens to be my new number one new obsession. I don't usually have time to watch TV but I will make an exception. If you haven't heard of the Carrie Diaries, its a new show that just started up with Anna Sophia Rob who plays Carrie Bradshaw. Ring any bells? Yes, you have heard that name before, Carrie Bradshaw is from Sex and the City silly! This show is the prequel of it and it's literally so good. It seems to be replacing Gossip Girl in my life. As they say, "When one door closes another opens" right? As it turned out when I got home I didn't even have time to relax or watch TV. I had to finish all my homework and make up work and then burn Simply Sanders CD's with pictures on them for people and deliver them. Then I walked around Cherry Creek and ate a little, took my outfit of the day pictures, and drove home feeling absolutely exhausted and sick like the few days before. I drove home on the highway with the windows down and no music. It was nice to hear the whistling wind and silence of the street. To feel the chilly breeze on my cheeks and twinkly red break lights. It helped me calm down a little somehow... so yeah. I don't expect anyone to read everything I just wrote because I'm babbling but it's nice to get words out onto paper. I hope everyone's day was full of beauty and not as busy and bitter as mine. Good Night!

Lazy Day

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! was the terrific sound that rang through my ears at 6 am this morning. I unconsciously searched around for my alarm clock and hit snooze. Thankfully my headache had vanished but I still felt crummy. I picked up my phone and tapped on ‘Mama Bear’ to call my mom.She quietly answered.“Mom, should I get up?” I murmured. “I think you should sleep and see if you feel better later today” she said. I clicked my phone shut and pulled

the blankets back around me to fall back asleep. When I woke up a few hours later, the first thought that popped in my head was how much I was probably missing at school. My school is honestly so hard and I’m not exaggerating. Its one of the top schools in the nation that prepares kids for college and has some of the most difficult curriculum. Knowing this, I was not looking forward to the quizzes and work I’ll have to make up. Other than taking a super hot shower and working on photos and what not, I basically laid in bed all day. I’m so utterly exhausted, physically and emotionally. I know that tomorrow is a new day though and I’ll feel better from the rest I’ve gotten, I’m just taking it one step at a time. Wish me luck!

Back 2 Bloggin'

Finally, I am back to having time to push letters from my keyboard onto my blog again. This weekend I didn’t have time nor access to my computer because I was up in the mountains with my school for a Student Senate retreat. If you don’t know what that is, Senate is like student government or the student board at my school. I ran last year and if I choose to do it again this year I’ll post pictures of my campaign!

Any way, yes, the past few days have been very busy! I was up in the mountains (Aspen) and watched the X-GAMES which was a super cool experience. It made me wish I was really good at skiing or snowboarding. The tricks those people throw are honestly so amazing. They make it look so easy! It was fun to do that with the kids in Senate, some of which are my really good friends, others I got to know. On Sunday, I had to be home before 1 pm to go to a charity tea, so I left with a few friends at 8 am. It was pretty brutal considering I got about 30 minutes of sleep the night before. The charity tea was fun but I was not in the mood to be there knowing I had to do a bunch of homework when I got home. Ironically, I didn’t even end up doing because I fell asleep early that night. Yesterday, I left school after fifth period because I could barely keep my eyes open. I went home and crawled right into bed and slept until dinner. I figured I should probably get my homework done because I’ve been putting it off and of course I got a migraine. So last night I forced myself to deal with 5 hours of throwing up, throbbing headache, lost vision and on and off chills. I don’t know why I get such severe migraines but if you don’t, consider yourself extremely lucky. Its like having the flu except ten times worse.

Sorry I didn't post anything until now. This OOTD would be considered Wednesday's even though it's currently 3:21 AM and somehow I am still awake... I never sleep... I swear I am insomniac. Tomorrow morning is gonna be rough. But today was pretty average, I slept over at my friend Claire's last night because she just got home from being out of town so it was fun! At school I was so out of it until about 7th period, literally all day I just wanted to go home and curl up into a chair by the fire and watch Gossip Girl or start a new TV show. Does anyone have a show they're hooked on right now that I should start? Any way, I'm taking health for the new 2nd semester and I hope it'll be fun. One of my best guy friends is in it so I know we'll just mess around the whole time. After my long tiring school day, I went and adventured the cold prairies to photograph this. When I got back to the car my hands were so numb I could barely feel my finger tips touch the car door handle. I sat there rubbing them together as if I was a little eskimo lady in her igloo freezing to death. I am not a cold weather person at all; if you were to make me chose between the beach or mountains I would take the beach any day. I need the warmth and sunshine to feed my bubbly personality! So please, get warmer Denver! Or just snow for the rest of the month, but don't leave me in the dry brown coldness.

I'm a little weird...

I'm a little weird.....
Sometimes I think the pictures I post don't show my personality so here it is.
 I'm weird.
I have weird big bug eyes and I can make some pretty ugly faces.
I love to act silly and am being weird more than serious.
This is me:)

This year I've become so much more calm and just happy and less concerned with everyone and everything. Yes, I have those days where I seriously just want to be a complete bitch and have no one judge me for it, but most days I'm just happy-go-lucky and try to go with the flow of things. I was grounded for about a month and a half so I had a bunch of time on my hands and one night I just thought, "I'm gonna redo my room." I went to Home Depot and picked out sandy tan and ice blue paint, the blue is so light it almost looks white. Then I went shopping at Anthropologie (one of my most beloved stores, literally going to decorate everything in my house from there when I'm older) and bought bedding and pillows and little trinkets to add to the room. After I just went home and painted and got everything done in one Sunday night. I'm the type of person who can't leave things undone. I had to finish it! Set up, clean, everything put away. My room is so much more calm now and embraces my sense of living. Simple with bright touches and super bright.

New Years Resolutions

In no order- just things I want to work on:)
- spend more time with my family
- eat healthier
- focus on school more than I am now and improve my grades
- put all the time and effort into meaningful friendships in which I know I will keep for a long time, rather then trying to please everyone
- be more active: try and go running, go to the gym, walk my dog, work out while watching tv etc. because I don't play sports and I know I'm not about to go pick up field hockey like I said I would last year
- R E A D: For fun
- be neat and organized, just kind of have a sense of calmness daily and go with the flow of life instead of being anxious or caught up in drama
- try and travel a bunch
- save money
- embrace everything about myself and be ME 100% of the time

Starbucks Makes Everything Better

-OBEY-

So I created this blog a few weeks ago when I was grounded and wanted to start posting on it but just kind of got busy with other things. But now, I'm finally picking it up and officially starting it! I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Excited because this blog is purely going to be me. Plain and simple. You might think that sounds self centered but when I say that, I mean its just kind of where I'll be bluntly pouring my thoughts and posting the pictures that I don't on Instagram or Tumblr. Speaking of tumblr, I think I'm going to delete mine soon because I just never have time to do it anymore. I love it don't get me wrong and I'm so thankful for all my followers, but I feel like I'm letting them down. Its hard to keep up with everyone. So maybe, this blog will fill in the spaces. I wanted to create kind of a typical day in the life of Hannah. I'll post fashion, food, random stuff like that and see where it takes me! All I ask, is that if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it!

Nothing 2 Lose

For those who have followed me for a while, you know that I used my flickr account much like a blog. I would write long stories, quotes, about my day etc. It was a place to get away and spill out what was bottled inside of me. Much of my personal life was carefully typed inside the white text boxes which created a scene for my photography and a journal for my life. But overtime my life became crowded & I left for the summer and found myself not even having time to type in my flickr URL. But for all who miss my stories and photos, this blog will be created into what my flickr once was, and sculpted into much more.
For those of you who come across me and are new to my blog, welcome! I hope my writing embraces you with happiness and gives you the charisma and energy that I strive to meet everyday! I am enthralled with photography and fashion and will post daily looks and artsy fashion photographs. Be careful though because you may stumble upon photos of me being my weird and awkward self that I don't post anywhere else really. I want my blog to be as real and lively as possible! Filled with things that you may not know about me otherwise! I know in some ways, putting myself out there for everyone to read is probably very nieve; there are people out there who don't like me and will search to find every flaw I have or to learn my weaknesses and use them against me. But I'd like to think that there are more good people then bad and hope that you will read because your curious or inspired, not to hate. This world is a crazy place we live in, and I'm just trying to find my way; I believe that I've got nothing to lose and so much more to gain!

Happy Reading:)
